I was telling A the other day, I thought we were so organised! I thought we had everything done, ticked and everything, so why does our list of things to do extend and extend the closer we get?  We concluded, it’s all the tiny details… things that we could not get done any earlier, and of course, one has to continue living normal life despite a wedding happening in the background!

Today I’m going for my second hair trial – perhaps unlike most brides, I wish this was all sorted for me!  I wish someone would just wave a wand around me and there I would be, on the 27 March, perfectly dressed.  Finding the cake, the favors (by the way we have ordered! So excited! Hope you like it!!!), etc all seem way easier… but making decisions on how I will look on the day is harder  

We have been soooo busy lately (as you can tell from the lack of posts) that I have left my hair research till very very last minute… 2hrs before I have to head to the hair stylist   The last time she did a good job but when I looked in the photos, I didn’t quite like what I saw… so rather than regret for the next 100 years I decided to try again (it better be the last time!).

Have you checked out Jasmine Star’s blog?  Our photographer JS really likes her, and some do some friends!  For brides out there, brides to be, people who love fabulous things and pretty stuff, check her wedding shoots… where does she find such amazing brides who can do so much?!!! (everytime I see more wedding stuff, I want to add it in… just as well we are getting married soon… hahaa!)

Things to do (this is the short summarised version):

1.  Look for pretty “wishing well” – I know what I want BUT where to find!!! (If all else fails, you might end up seeing a shoe box instead )

2.  Run through the run sheet again – which is already quite a few pages already! (thank you for experienced brides who have forwarded me theirs to look at!)

3.  Finalise ceremony refreshments (I am sad to say that I wanted to order these to-die-for chocolate ganache tarts but apparently it is not a wise idea… they melt or something You’ll have to taste the other couple of goodies that may be heat resistant!)

4.  Pick up wedding umbrella (very cute!)

5.  Get ready for Monday’s helpers meeting

6.  SLEEP!

Hope you are all having a fabulous time out there!   Despite the very sporadic blog posts, I promise we will blog!  This blog will continue for quite awhile… we will definitely have exciting photos to post from our wedding and honeymoon in weeks and months to come! (esp since neither A nor I have facebook! Yes NO FB!)

Today was a full on WEDDING DAY!  and I mean wedding day from early morning to the evening!  More about that in my next entry – when I have the energy to go and upload some photos!

Trivial findings and things that has happened:

• Hair…. grrr grrr grrr… there are some decisions I enjoy making and pondering on, but not where hair and make up is concerned.  Thank goodness make up is sorted, one always fears they end up looking like a clown at a wedding, or on the other side of the scale, like Snow White.  By the way, if you like natural, which every bride wants these days, I have been warned not to be too natural that you look too normal!  Hair still has not been decided… did Trial #1 the other day… need Trial #2 I think!
• Umbrellas… yes I found these really pretty white umbrellas whilst out with E looking for her bridesmaid dresses (yes I’m going to be a bridesmaid again in Oct – yay!!!).  And these are so cool – little bit vintage like but yet really quite pretty!  Yes props for the wedding! (I felt weird asking the lady if she sold the umbrellas as I thought they were for decoration only!  But yes one can buy it for $15!  So these umbrellas should be appearing somewhere on the 27th March)
• RSVPs… am really glad a of people have replied! Thank you!
• Hen’s Night – ooohhh so exciting…… thanks to my bridesmaid brilliant ideas.. it should be awesome! Can’t wait!  Will post photos up nearer the time!  Yes I was part of the planning process… hahaha… I’m not one for too many surprises!!!

Anyway plenty to do… as we lead up to the big day in 49 days… by the way, travel expo at Perth Convention Centre this week…… we’ll be checking it out!!!

Hope you had a good weekend!  Tomorrow is our afternoon to relax… yippppeee!!!

We are only purchasing the essentials for now!  There has been plenty of sales around lately – we didn’t pick up anything that was 70% off or anything, but we found essentials that we both liked   So if you ever want to talk about beds, couches, dining tables, come talk to us –   We have seen so many in the past few weeks!!! (Harvey Norman has perhaps the widest selection of bed suites!)

I can’t remember how many kids we are having at our wedding… I think it should be under 10 of them… but I want to create these fun kiddie buckets for our little people guests! Awesome idea!!! (Hehehe I’m sure A loves it whenever I get ANOTHER new wedding idea haha!!!)

Talking about kids, may I introduce to you a new member to our bridal team… our very very cute 3 year old friend called Brookelyn!

She is gorgeous – full of kiddie fun, always ready to pose for the camera and always ready to give you a hug and a HUGE laugh!  Her laugh makes us laugh!  It is bigger than she is!

Watch out for her on the 27th March!

We have chosen our wedding favours……. will keep it a secret… but yes pleased with them!!!   After lots of thinking and researching, I think we have found them! Hello wedding favours!

This above shot is probably one of our most favourite shots of the shoot… it was one of those “surprise” shots that seemed a little bit different and yet so nice as well!  It was actually the first shot of the session!

Heart shaped lollipops.. ahh so cute! We bought these from Roc Candy and tied the ribbons on ourselves.. We had some fun shots from this session!  At our wedding in March, you’ll see a few more from this scene!  

I loved how JS just saw something and made us stop and take a picture!  She has never been to Perth before and was not familiar with the area at all, so it was very interesting to see what she saw and where she would ask us to stop for a photo!  

At first you feel quite awkward and even a bit silly and having had no previous modelling experience, I have to say it felt quite weird!  But JS did a marvellous job of making us feel so comfortable!  She chatted with us the whole time, allowing us to laugh and relax!   She was very quick to sense what type of people we were and what was our style!

JS doesn’t do too many black and white shots (which suits us as we prefer colour!  Lots of colour) but when she does, she picks the right shot to use it for!

My cupcakes!!! My first ever totally professional picture of my home baked goodies!!!   A huge swirl of yummy chocolate ganache… I forget what flavour the cupcake was now… Hmmm… *scratches head*

Hooray!  Champagne anyone??? (it was the Brown Brother’s Zibibbo Rosa sparkling pink wine!  It’s so yummy!  It was the wine chosen for our Engagement Party!)

Thanks everyone!  We had a lovely day on the shoot with Jenny Sun… and can’t wait to have her shoot our Big Day in March!

It hit our Inbox at exactly 1.07am last night!

We’ll be selecting a few to blog about as a bit of a sneak preview - the rest you’ll have to wait for 27 March 2010!  So what do we think?  The photos seems to get better each time we look at it!!!…. Love the colour and the fun the pictures throw at the screen!!!

Stay tuned……..  (sorry don’t mean to leave you in suspense, but I have been busy all night with the wedding cake that I’m making!  I promise it won’t be long!)

Let the “calligraphy” begin tonight!

Quick update:  The suits were really good! Smart, cool and very sharp looking!  J and G will also be trying them on this week before A orders them!  Talk about eye candy!!! *grin*

Photos:  Still have not arrived!   However, I have been told they are being couriered over, so fingers crossed they arrive this coming week!

Today, I ticked off the Reception Menu box!  Done, chosen and hopefully it will be yummy!   We are blessed to have a great events coordinator at Frasers who has been so good to deal with and tried to be as accomodating and cater to our needs as much as possible!

Invites… so impressed… looks like they will be ready ahead of time – yay! Ready for our January estimated time of invite hand outs!

Favours… the choices are plentiful!  The problem with having a long time to prepare is that you think way too much and you can research way too much either!  Perhaps we will come to the original idea in the end… however whilst I continue to research, I continue to see other things that I LOVE!   Oh well, just gotta wait and see what turns up on your table setting!

The man stuff begins this weekend… our first visit to Penguin Hire…!  It shall be an eye opener for me!   Maybe we will dress the groomsmen in pink striped suits?!   Talk about eye-candy!!!

Yay yay yay! Mum and I found my veil on Saturday, from Brides Selection at Leederville.  We received such awesome service, that made this visit so much more enjoyable!  They have a wide range of veils, ranging from $100-$600!  Yes all for a piece of net! Haha!  I like my veil, it’s quite pretty I think!  I have begin to realise that my decision making is becoming much quicker these days haha!  It also feels incredibly good to be able to tick things off the list… it’s like yay yippee hooray!

Since we were in the vicinity, we popped by Georgie’s Bridal Shoes, which was also in Leederville.  I had my doubts about going into a bridal shoe shop, as usually everything with the words “Bride, white, wedding…” means you were likely to be slapped with a huge price tag, just because they know they can!  I have not really placed a high priority on the shoes as they are not going to be as visible as everything else, plus what is important is that they are comfortable… so how about some sneakers???! Hehe!

Service was rather poor at this shop, so don’t expect receive much of it.  Infact, we were left alone for a bit too long even after the previous customer had left the shop!  Hmmm not impressive at all!  However, the shop itself was pretty nice, quite english and bridal like.  They have a lot of shoes for such a small shop, and one of the better ranges that I have seen!  I’m quite sure most brides would be able to find something they like in here, they have shoes ranging from low to high heel!

So here it is……….. well, I havent’ really decided yet if I’ll get it or not… this is an ivory satin shoe… with little sequins lining the whole shoe… not a very clear picture here… it is much much nicer in real life!  Very elegant, I reckon!!! :)  I will be exactly 9cm taller with this!  Haha!  It is actually not too uncomfortable at all – much better than the one I previously tried at another boutique!
